  • Location: Western Box Elder County, in Northwest Utah, approximately 40 miles north of I-80 at Wendover, Utah; 3 miles east of the Pilot Mountain Range. The Pilot Mountain Road passes through the northwest corner of the property. The southern portion of this parcel is on Lion Mountain. 
  • Access: From Utah Highway 30, about 9 miles east of the Nevada state line, turn south on Grouse Creek Road (this becomes Pilot Mountain Road south of Lucin). Go approximately ten miles to the property. You will cross the railroad tracks at Lucin, and go until you reach Lion Mountain. Pilot Mountain Road crosses the northwest corner of the property. A two-track road enters the property near the north property line. 
  • Topography: The property rises steeply from north to south, extending to near the top of Lion Mountain – see topographical map. 
  • Soil: The soil is gravelly in places, and silty loam in other places on the north side of the property. There are rock outcroppings on the south.

  • Wildlife: Jack rabbits, coyotes, antelope throughout the area, with elk and mountain lions in the Pilot Mountains.

Wendover is about 40 miles south of the property. West Wendover, Nevada, on the Utah State line at I-80, is a popular entertainment and gambling destination. Most of the nearby mountains are owned by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, and are open to public hunting and recreation. Just south of the property on Pilot Mountain Road is a road to the west, providing access to the Pilot Mountains. 
  • Zoning: MU-160. 160 or more acres are required to obtain a building permit. This zoning is intended to maintain open space. 
  • Taxes: $73.74 in 2011. 
  • Utilities: Power cuts across the northwest corner of the property. 
  • Uses: Investment. There are some great building sites on this property, and it is accessible year-round. This could be a small ranch. This would make a great get-away for survivalists, with building sites in the side of the mountain. There is access to many miles of roads and trails from this property, making it ideal for ATV riding, horseback riding, hiking, camping, etc. Elk are found in the Pilot Mountains, as well as coyotes and mountain lions.
